What if I ask you, what is the hardest thing we humans face? What daunting challenge does the modern human, the advanced species that evolved over 6 million years, the earthborn species with eyes constantly scrolling Instagram, face? Your answer to this question would probably be that the most challenging thing we face today is to build a successful, money-rewarding career or to build a loving family or to sustain one. Agreed, these are some hard-fought victories achieved over time, but the most challenging thing you face today is to accept yourself, to recognize yourself, and to love yourself, to love yourself truly.
Self-love or positive love for yourself reflects a positive state of mind one has about oneself. Self-love requires you to be there for yourself, to care for yourself, to support yourself in bad & good times, and to make yourself truly independent, emotionally & spiritually! But today’s life in the cutting edge 21st century has taught you to check your 10,000 steps a day routine, 8 glasses of water a day routine, hustling one to ground for success & for money routine but has made you unknowingly forget to do the quintessential check, the check on yourself, to see how you are doing, to see if you are okay!
There is a Greek myth that we were all born with four arms, four legs, and one soul. After conspiring to climb Mount Olympus, Zeus ordered that all beings should be cut in half, leaving humans to spend their whole life searching for the other half of their soul – their soulmate. It’s a beautiful story, but many of us need to understand that our ‘wholeness’ comes from within.
Do you blame yourself for something bad that happened in your life? Do you constantly doubt yourself? Do you even stand up for yourself? If you don’t like your answers to these questions, change yourself. Change is the nature of life. Reinforce positive changes. Stop taking the blame, take responsibility instead & build confidence in yourself. Every single element around you is a reflection of your inner soul, your inner thoughts. As Shree Krishna says,” A man is made by his beliefs. As he believes. So he becomes.” Start believing in yourself, start respecting yourself, start caring for yourself, and start loving yourself. If you don’t start giving a fuck about yourself, the world will have a hard time giving one about you!
